At Altitude

***Note: This site is still under construction. With over a hundred backlogged reports, I will be working diligently to get everything posted over the next few months***

My name is Connor Young and the mountains are my passion. Throughout my childhood, I hiked extensively with my family throughout the Rocky Mountains of Canada in Alberta and British Columbia, although I did more than my fair share of complaining out there. After graduating from high school, I moved to Ontario for university. Removing the mountains from my life made me realize how important they were to me. When I returned to Alberta, I wanted nothing but to improve what I was capable of in the mountains. I joined clubs, took courses, and began taking trips every weekend. My passion has become a borderline addiction, but one that I hope sticks with me for life. I have found my calling.

In an effort to give back to the mountain community that helped shape who I have become, I have started this blog in order to circulate route and conditions information – hopefully making the mountains a safer place for us all. While I still enjoy any activity that gets me out to the mountains, alpinism has the strongest hold over me. In this blog you will find reports on all sorts of mountain activities, such as hiking, backpacking, scrambling, rock climbing, ice climbing, alpine climbing, and skiing. My addiction has taken me to places all over Western Canada, as well as a few places in the USA. I am currently residing in the South Island of New Zealand, exploring new mountain environs previously unknown to me.

I hope that the information you find in this blog will be of use to you on your adventures and I encourage you to reach out to me via email should you require any further information or GPS data. Enjoy.
